I must say I was hoping to be impressed by Yuval Noah Harari’s best seller “21 lessons for the 21st Century”. But, far from it.
It tries to take on issues by addressing future challenges through a contemporary prism rather than exploring more innovative tracks.
The exploration is in 5 chapters; Technology, Politics, Despair & Hope, Truth and Resilience — each category with their own sub headings.
It feels to me like the book is informed solely by the author’s own experience; rather than striving towards any systematic contemplation of variables.
The book focuses on areas that challenge the basic principle we have come to believe since birth.
I thoroughly enjoyed my cover to cover read even though I don’t see myself aligning with all the author’s arguments.
There is no doubt that this is a very informative book — the arguments expressed are presented logically, forcing the reader’s engagement and consideration on issues they might have seen as historically, and/or culturally, set in stone.
